The Global Climate Innovation Coalition was invited to attend a United Nations conference to combat air pollution

International Clean Air and Blue Sky DayYouth campaign against air pollutionThe United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on December 19, 2019, marking September 7 as the "International Clean Air and Blue Sky Day". The UN General Assembly wants the international community to celebrate this International Day in an appropriate way, raise public awareness and promote actions to improve air quality.
On September 8,2022, for the international world clean air day, the United Nations environment program (UNEP) and Latin America Clean Air Alliance held an online lecture, invited young leaders, clean air advocates to discuss air quality on health, environment and climate, depth of the young people's experiences in air pollution management. Representatives of the Global Climate Innovation Coalition (GCIC) were invited to participate in the conference to learn from the dialogue, raise awareness of young people and explore more comprehensive environmental pollution solutions through cross-field cooperation.
In the online voting at the conference, nearly all participants said they had "been affected by air pollution". In 2018, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), "about 93 percent of the world's children aged 15 and under breathe heavily polluted air every day."In 2016, 600,000 children died from acute lower respiratory tract infections caused by air pollution. As an environmental charity organization, GCIC is committed to translating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and carbon neutrality guidelines into innovative solutions. At the meeting, representatives of GCIC and the spokesman discussed the significance of reducing carbon emissions to the control of air pollution. We will actively support the "Carbon to Zero" action proposed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to build a healthier and cleaner world for future generations.

"We cannot wait for others to act. As individuals, as young clean air advocates, we must gradually change ourselves in our daily lives and become part of solutions of air pollution.”
